Jason Dessen is abducted into an alternate version of his life. To get back to his real family, he embarks on a harrowing journey to save them from the most terrifying foe imaginable: himself.
It’s been unexpected. The first season, I liked it, but it was also similarly silly at the same time. It gives quite a lot to think about, by elaborating on the topic of some regrets, surely many people have. What if you’d made that other decision like 20 years ago? Married that girl, never started that thing, and started another? Etc etc.
We started watching it when 4 episodes were released, one day before (the best!) fifth episode was released. That demonstrates that I forgot about this series, and was reluctant to watch it. I expected this season to be… not even worse than the 1st one, but just… bad, you know.
Turned out, this season is very good! To enjoy both seasons, you have to actually drop some… expectations and logic, and just not trying to challenge the storyline, logic, some really stupid idiotic decisions characters make, etc. I enjoy the parallel universes concept, and so I enjoy exploring what others invent.
The ending is very good (to my taste). It’s a cliffhanger, so I both want to see season 3, but also I afraid they’d make it worse, and it would turn into shit. In general, yeah, I’d love to see the season 3, even if they’d turn the show into shit. It’s shit anyway :) And if you just drop the expectations, logic, and just enjoy the storyline they try to tell, it may be quite good still. There are things to think about too.
I’d surely recommend if you like something like that. (The book was shit.)
I find it’s funny that it’s both very good to be abruted like that, but also, since it’s so good, I’d love to see the season 3.
As many others!
I swear if this show doesn’t get renewed, I’m building the box to find a world where it does
